Get Ready to Ride With Us!

Many children and young people enjoy online gaming, giving them opportunities to make friends, learn new skills and improve cognitive functions. The downsides and risks are also well documented and acknowledged by duty bearers, carers and young people themselves. Sadly, many children and young people are exposed to harmful content online, through gaming platforms.

Some gaming companies are taking the lead and responsibility to provide safe and secure platforms, recognising the risks for children and young people, and are taking steps to integrate protective mechanisms in their platforms.

Our new partner, Star Stable, is a shining example of a gaming platform that works with its players to address issues of safety and provide a space for them to feel comfortable and protected. Through our partnership, we are linking to child helplines through the Star Stable game, sharing ways that players can support each other, reach out to a child helpline, and promote a healthy and inspiring environment for everyone to enjoy.

Through their initiative, Ride With Us, players of Star Stable can share their love of horses, build a community based on kindness and caring for each other, and look out for players when they need support. We are proud to join forces with Star Stable, to share and promote children’s rights to safety on- and offline, from Ride With Us to Rights With Us!

Therése Forssell, Head of Communications at Star Stable Entertainment, says: “At Star Stable, we take pride in making the world a happier and kinder place. Our game is a space where players can get lost in epic adventures and socialise with their friends. We take our role seriously when it comes to improving our community’s wellbeing, both in the real world and the gaming world. Child Helpline International’s member child helplines play an important role in supporting young people with the struggle they face online and in person. We share the ethos of listening to the needs of young people and helping them however we can. We are so happy to have forged this partnership, and we look forward to having them Ride With Us!
