This September, Child Helpline International (CHI), together with Red PaPaz and Línea 106, will convene the Regional Consultation of Child Helplines in the Americas and the Caribbean in Bogotá, Colombia. The Consultation will bring together child helplines and selected regional partners for dialogue on the challenges affecting children and young people across the region, including violence, mental health, online harms, and access to support services.
The Consultation provides an opportunity to connect frontline insights from child helplines with the perspectives of governments, civil society, digital platforms, telecommunications actors and other stakeholders working to strengthen child protection systems. Discussions will focus on practical exchange, regional collaboration and identifying opportunities to improve how children access support and protection.
The Consultation will bring together approximately 50-70 participants from across the Americas and the Caribbean. Based on consultation with members in the region, this year’s programme will focus on:
